Who we are
This website is operated by Hobsonville Tyres, 8/3 Inanga Street, Hobsonville, Auckland, New Zealand. You can contact us about privacy at imtiaz@hobsonvilletyres.co.nz.
Information we collect
If you call or email us, we receive the information you choose to provide so we can respond to your enquiry. When Google Analytics 4 is enabled, it also collects information about website visits, such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser information, and how visitors arrived at the site. Google uses an internet protocol (IP) address during collection to derive approximate location and says it discards the raw IP address after use rather than logging or storing it. Providing enquiry information is voluntary, but we may be unable to respond without enough contact information.
How we use analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand website traffic and improve the site. We also measure clicks on phone and email links; these custom events record whether the link was for a call or email, not the phone number, email address, or content of a call or message. Standard analytics context, such as the page where the click occurred, may accompany the event. We do not use analytics reports to try to identify individual visitors.
Cookies and Google
Our Google Analytics tag uses first-party cookies, including _ga and _ga_<measurement-id>, to distinguish users and sessions. Google documents a default expiry of two years that is refreshed when data is sent, although browser rules or settings may shorten this period or remove the cookies. Analytics information is sent to Google and may be processed outside New Zealand. For details about Google's handling of this information, see how Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can restrict cookies in your browser settings or use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Some browser privacy features may also block analytics.
How long we keep information
We keep enquiry information only for as long as reasonably needed to respond, provide services, meet legal or accounting requirements, and resolve disputes. User-level and event-level analytics data is retained according to the data-retention setting in our Google Analytics property. You can contact us to ask about the current setting.
Your privacy enquiries
If you want to ask what personal information we hold about you, request access or correction, or raise a privacy concern, email imtiaz@hobsonvilletyres.co.nz. Because analytics identifiers are pseudonymous and are not linked to contact details by this website, we may not be able to identify or retrieve analytics records as information about you. If we cannot resolve your concern, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
